NFPA Private Sector Employee Specialist Level B Training Course Summary:

Conforming to NFPA 472, OSHA CFR 1910.130, CSA Z731 and provincial regulations, the Specialist Level B employee can be used to gather and record information, provide technical advice and provide technical assistance (including work within the hot zone) at the incident consistent with their organization’s emergency response plan.

Course Content:

  • Provide information on the hazards and harmful effects of specific chemicals
  • Understand federal, provincial and municipal regulation and by-laws
  • Read and interpret material safety data sheets
  • Application of other resources such as CANUTEC, emergency response guide book and company emergency response plans
  • Provide information on the characteristics of specific containers within their facility
  • How to properly identify plant specific markings, labels and placards
  • How to provide response information based on product specific knowledge
