Bonding and Grounding Course Summary:
Minimizing the generation of static electricity when transferring flammable liquids between containers is critical in preventing fires and explosions that may lead to an employee being injured or killed, as well as property damage. Creating an electrically conductive pathway between a dispensing container, the receiving container and an earth ground, the process of bonding and grounding, helps to eliminate the build up of static electricity by allowing it to dissipate into the ground.
