H2S Survive Awareness Certification

Hydrogen Sulphide represents a potentially severe hazard to workers in a vast array of professions. In 2010, The ACGIH lowered the historically accepted TLVs for H2S and furthered the need for effective and comprehensive training for employers, supervisors and all workers. This course will better prepare every level of your organization for their duties and responsibilities to control the dangers associated with exposure.

Topics to include:

  • Working safely with Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) – What to do and not to do
  • What is Hydrogen Sulphide and where is it commonly found
  • The chemistry and toxicology of H2S - what do you need to know?
  • Protection against H2S using equipment such as respirators, rescue packs and gas monitors
  • TLVs for H2S versus Assigned Protection factors for typical respirator models
  • Precautions to take to ensure your safety when entering an area which may contain H2S vapors
  • Rescue and first aid as it applies to H2S exposure
  • How to revive victims that have inhaled H2S using artificial respiration and CPR
