NFPA 472 OPERATIONS LEVEL CERTIFCATION

Hazardous materials responders require more advanced skill sets based on operational goals and organizational guidelines. Certification to the Operations level will enable your responders to take a more advanced approach to the release of hazardous Materials.

THE OPERATIONS LEVEL RESPONDERS MUST BE ABLE TO:

  • PROVIDE AND INTERPRET HAZARD INFORMATION
  • PROVIDE AND INTERPRET INFORMATION REGARDING SPECIFIC CONTAINERS
  • PROVIDE INFORMATION ON CHEMICAL CONCENTRATIONS
  • IMPLEMENT AND OPERATE WITHIN THE IMS SYSTEM
  • UNDERSTAND APPLICABLE LEGISLATION, STANDARDS, REGULATIONS
  • IDENTIFY AND SELECT CHEMICAL SPECIFIC PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
  • IDENTIFY PROPER DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
  • DEVELOP A PLAN OF ACTION
  • PERFORM RESPONSE OPTIONS (OFFENSIVE VS. DEFENSIVE)
  • DON, WORK WITH AND DOFF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
  • PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE RESPONSE ACTIONS TAKEN
  • PROVIDE REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION OF THE INCIDENT DETAILS
