Automated External Defibrillator Training

This course is designed to train any personnel who are required to take their first aid/cpr training one step further, when their facility is equipped with an automated external defibrillator.

Topics to include:

  • Proper assessment – don’t make your rescuer a victim
  • Proper use of barrier protective devices for the rescuer
  • A bit about defibrillation – facts, figures and what the american heart association says!
  • Proper patient assessment
  • Airway management tecniques – a, b, c,
  • One rescuer cpr
  • Two rescuer cpr
  • Introduction to the automated external defibrillator – put the “d” in abc
  • Maintenance, safety, troubleshooting and operating principles for your workplace specific aed
  • Proper patient transfer protocol – what to tell the ambulance personnel
  • Extensive hands-on practical scenarios using your aed

Duration: 4-6 hours.  Minimum of 6 participants per session.

Recommended training interval: Annual certification.
